Depending on who you listen to, or what circles you run in, you may hear things like, "God is not concerned with your happiness, He wants your obedience," which is often translated in our mind as, "Ok, so I can either be happy or holy."

Still waters play a vital role in the restoration of our soul. This is the Shepherds way, He leads us there. Every sheep who is living well has to learn the way of the Shepherd, and in that we learn the value of slowing our pace, shrinking our world, and shepherding our hearts into the shepherding of the Good Shepherd.
