Even in the midst of trouble, God is still faithful and compassionate! David also spoke of God's faithfulness in the night season. The Bible speaks of His great mercy, of how He is rich in mercy. To be with someone is often the most desired thing. To belong, to rest in the knowledge another accepts us, is happy to be with us. Our Father is like that. He loves to be with us, to protect us, and He wants us to always come home to Him, where we belong.

We are accepted as we are. We are not ignored or cast aside as 'not good enough'. We only need to believe it. We belong and our Father is delighted to see us - all of the time. Run to Him and see for yourself!

There is perhaps only one way to live in a place of inner peace. We try to conjure it will silence and solitude. God says it is His peace that transcends all understanding. It is beyond comprehension, yet it exists in the relationship we have with Jesus. Our surrender is to Him, not to nothingness. It is by keeping our thoughts on what is true and real, on trust in Him that we find rest and a peace-filled life.
