It is an interesting concept - to clothe ourselves with gentleness. Might that be one of the qualities people see first when they meet us? Might that be what we wear in our homes and in the marketplace? What would change in our world if we walked through our day with the heart of gentleness toward every creature, every person? Father, would you place this quality of character across our shoulders, that we might carry your compassion everywhere we go?

Joy is an attitude, not an emotion. It comes from our heart and results from our trusting in God. Even in the most sorrowful experiences, God's joy is our strength as we choose it. Take in these words of encouragement and ask the Holy Spirit to show you God's joy for you and His gift of joy that is already growing in you.

As a father in a family is a living example of how to respond to life's challenges, so our Father God, demonstrates a life of faithfulness by keeping His promises to us. In turn, we are to mimic, to learn how to be faithful to Him and to those in our life. It is a bond, God's promise of standing with us that expresses the depth of love and honor that we in turn can do the same to those around us.

Of all the expressions of emotions we have, love seems to be the easiest and the hardest to share. The well-known chapter, 1 Corinthians 13 is used to describe the way to live yet we find it unattainable, because we try to do it rather than letting Jesus do it through us. The branch doesn't produce fruit- the the branch bears the fruit produced by the Vine.

As with all aspects that define our Lord and God, goodness is a quality of His character. Paul write to the Ephesians, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Our life in Jesus develops such fruit. The goodness of God, is something He share with us- that we might share this sweet tasting fruit with others.

When we are at a low point, feeling overwhelmed and needing help, God reminds us, "Be brave and courageous, and never lose hope. Yes, keep on waiting—for he will never disappoint you!" This is our comfort - that He hears us and that even our hope is from Him.

Each of us has been given divine gifts to contribute to the growth of others. As we allow the Holy Spirit to use these gifts through us, they are effectively applied and we are all built up and made perfect in His love. For Love to flourish, we must trust God with ourselves.

What does the power of God look like? As we see God revealed throughout His Word, we see a God who is all-powerful, One who can do all things, One for whom there is nothing too difficult. So, for what does He use His power? He has done and continues to do everything in His mighty power to save us, to redeem us, to set us free to be all He created us to be, to reconcile us to Himself, His children, who are created in His likeness and for His glory. The power of God does what we cannot do! In turn our greatest power and privilege is to surrender to what He is doing - loving us, so we learn how to love others. the love of God. God is love. Love is the greatest expression of power in all creation and in forever. Verse 8 in 1 Corinthians 13 remind us, Love never fails.

These scriptures give us perspective of God's dominion and reach. They remind us that Creator God is also the only one with power and dominion over the universe. As God's children, we are in awe of all we see - powers and authorities in heaven and on earth acknowleding His rule. May we not forget, as we too, belong to Him.

No longer are we enslaved to rebellion or rejected for our mistakes and sins. Our debt has been paid and we are free. God has declared justice has been served on our behalf. To live now, is to believe and accept we can go on and step into life and light. We are free to become all we were intended to be. In God's eyes we are now just and righteous people. How grateful we should be. How amazing it is to be handed keys to the kingdom, because God simply loves us so much!
