Phylicia Benjamin is a wife, mother, daughter and the owner of Perfect Score Athletic Training Center. Phylicia started her gymnastics journey at South Bay Gymnastics in Torrance, CA. She was coached by Jerry Jackson, whom she displays in her training center for remembrance. After completing her gymnastics career, Phylicia attended California State University, Long Beach on a Track and Field Scholarship. During her career at CSULB, Phylicia returned to South Bay Gymnastics and began coaching the competitive team. At this time, Phylicia developed a passion for coaching, mentoring, and leading the young girls to success. When the gymnastics studio closed in 2015, Phylicia sought to open her very own gymnastics studio. Two years later, the opportunity presented itself, and the timing couldn't have been more perfect. Perfect Score Athletic Training Center opened in 2017.

The road to graduation for her wasn't a breeze though. She experienced major culture shock. Set very high goals for herself. Had to figure out  balancing between being in a new environment and the demands of her academics.

Through it all it was the support and foundation from her family that got her through!
