Proverbs 4:1-9

Ever wonder how Biblical wisdom is different from the wisdom of this world? How do we get Biblical wisdom and what are the benefits of having it? These topics and more will be explored as we look at Proverbs 4 to understand the security that comes from Biblical wisdom.

Romans 13:1-10

There is a whole lot of submitting going on in the Bible: creation submitting to the Creator, children submitting to parents, believers to one another in the Lord, and wives to husbands. Submitting to governmental authorities is also part of our Christian responsibility. Does this make us just a bunch of doormats?

Romans 12:1-2

Worship is more than just what we do in church on Sunday mornings… it takes a whole lifetime to offer, and it involves our bodies as well as our minds.

Romans 9:1-5

Pastor Jon begins a new sermon series which surveys Romans chapters 9-16. Once we are rooted in the foundational truths of our faith (as presented in the beginning chapters of Romans), there is some spiritual fruit that we should see in our lives, including a heart for people around us who don’t know Jesus.

1 Chron. 17:1-15: Of all the people throughout history who were part of a building project for God, King David of Israel was definitely the most enthusiastic about it. As we study the unique facets of his story, we are challenged to assess our own hearts, as God gives us the *privilege* to be involved in building something for Him.

Eph. 5:2

When we come to Communion, we are instructed to Remember Jesus. Today, we remember things we should Know about God’s love, things we should Feel about God’s love, and something we should Do as a result of God’s love.

Pastor Jon surveys a variety of exciting things that God is doing in our church. This is not a boring “state of the union” message – this is more of a “pastoral back-rub” of what God is doing in-and-through our church family. God is worthy of all our praise.

Luke 10:38-42

There is definitely a right way to share the energy-giving gift of hospitality with others. Sometimes, the welcome mat of our lives says “go away” or “no trespassing.” But as Christians we have what the world needs, so we are exhorted to practice hospitality. Mary and Martha provide us with some wonderful material to study.

Is optimism a Christian character trait? Is a “pessimistic Christian” an oxymoron? There is no argument that life is full of tensions, for Christians and non-Christians alike. Let’s learn from the life of Ruth, who by her faith found the good side of her life’s tensions.
