  1. His Holiness the Dalai Lama concluded a two-month visit to Drepung Monastery in South India, meeting with over 16,000 people, including religious leaders and audiences from around the world. During his stay, he presided over the convocation of the Geshe Lharampa Degree by Gelukpa University and attended the one-year prayer ceremony for the late Gyalo Thondup, honoring his contributions to the Tibetan community and struggle.
  2. Tibet news: Anya Sengdra, a Tibetan environmentalist and community leader from Golog, Tibet, has been released after more than seven years in prison, sources confirmed. Sengdra was detained for “peacefully campaigning” against “illegal” mining, wildlife poaching, and government “corruption” linked to nomadic resettlement funds. Radio Free Asia continues to monitor his current situation.
  3. Sikyong Penpa Tsering visited Washington, D.C., met with senior U.S. officials to urge continued and ‘strengthened’ support for the Tibetan cause. During the visit, he held meetings with members of the U.S.–China Economic and Security Review Commission and China experts from leading think tanks to discuss China’s “distortion” of Tibetan history and participated in forums organized by international religious freedom and Atlantic institutions, where he spoke on Tibetan democracy, religious freedom, and issues surrounding the reincarnation of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The Sikyong also met with bipartisan members of the U.S. Congress and young congressional leaders, emphasizing the importance of sustained long-term U.S. support for Tibet.
