Today's podcast covers news on the Lobo movie, John Constantine returning to Legends of Tomorrow, plus more news.

Lobo movie screenwriter Jason Fuchs talks his inspiration for the character - LRM Online

Thinks it is important to keep original vision for the character in mind

“So for something like Lobo, without saying too much about it, it’ll feel, I imagine, quite different, because the Lobo comic itself is quite different. What Keith Giffen and Alan Grant put together was something really unique, and hopefully we’ll capture some of that same spirit when we make the movie.”

John Constantine to return this season on Legends of Tomorrow

* Nick Zano (Nate) shared picture on Instagram with Matt Ryan in the background

* ComicBook.com - Constantine will return in Episode 15 (and possibly more?)

The CW is adding Sunday night programming from 2018-2019 - (Entertainment Weekly/ Variety)

Today's podcast covers quick news on David F. Sandberg's Shazam! film plus a new trailer and details on the Batman Ninja animated film.

Mark Strong talks humor in Shazam! - Total Film

"Zachary Levi, who plays the lead, is a very funny guy, and I’ve no doubt he will play with that part and make it interesting. I think DC have realized that they’ve got their canon of films that are dark, and they’ve now found one that’s pretty funny! There are some really funny moments in it."

"Sinestro was meant to go evil in the second one. The final frame of the first film is him trying on the yellow ring and his whole costume going yellow, and that was when he went evil. So I was really looking forward to that. The film didn’t do as well as they expected… so it never got made. So I was definitely conscious that Sivana is almost like the next stage that I wasn’t able to take."

Website question from JRBatman23 - “What rating do you predict for shazam?? Im really really hoping for pg!”

John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein discuss how they became Flashpoint directors - Collider

No deal is officially in place

Daley - “They gave us a list of DC properties and said, ‘Is there anything you’d be interested in?’, in no way promising us anything at all.”

Goldstein - “They were interested in us because of Game Night and Spider-Man. Because of that combination they did kind of say, ‘We’d like you to consider one of our movies.’ So we read a number of the scripts, and that was one—we’re huge fans of the character, I collected the comic books as a kid. It was an exciting possibility.”

Daley on what attracted them to the character - “Just the fact that the character is unique from other superheroes in that he doesn’t completely have his s**t together like Superman does. It’s more of a ground-level superhero.”

Goldstein - “It’s a relatable way in to a superhero movie in some of the same ways that Peter Parker was for the Marvel side of things.”

Also complimented Ezra Miller’s acting ability

Twitter question from John @DarthJetta004 - “hey @DCDailyDrop liked your streaming show ideas! i was thinking an Earth-3 animated show could be cool! focused on resistance to the Injustice Society?”

Earth-3 is typically home to the Crime Syndicate/Evil JLA - Ultraman, Superwoman, Owlman
