Should I thank my Dad or blame him? Some say that the Entrepreneurial Spirit isn't something you are taught, it's something you are born with.  Are entrepreneurs born into this world with a special drive and ability to recognize an opportunity? Or can can entrepreneur be created through education, experience and mentorship? Multiple research studies have indicated that there may be an "entrepreneur gene"--or at least that people with certain genetic characteristics and personality traits are more likely to be entrepreneurs than others.  For me, I grew up with my Father as my inspiration. He owned his own business for 60+ years before retiring. The hardest working man I have ever known.  Where Did Your Entrepreneurial Spirit Originate?

A little history of DCfempreneur and how it all began. My purpose and passion is supporting others, specifically other female business owners. DCfempreneur offers community to connect female entrepreneurs by providing support, networking opportunities, and collaboration to impact their business to make it more purposeful and profitable. We host a lot of in-person opportunities for women entrepreneurs to network, share successful strategies, discuss challenges we face, to help each other grow our businesses, to collaborate and expand our network throughout the DC area, but we also have a strong online Facebook community.
