In episode 10 of DnDebates, Scott moderates an episode on Unearthed Arcana, D&D’s playtest material. Amanda, Jake, and Corey pitch their suggestions for the next big UA, argue about whether people like snacks or disease better, and put their own spins on some off-the-ranch UA concepts.
In the ninth episode of D&Debates, Amanda poses some intriguing questions regarding the part of the game she never shuts up about: flavor. Our debaters argue over the inherent flavor of existing subclasses, possible ways to reskin magic for other settings, and backstories for characters whose mechanics lack a little bit of spice. Remember that Amanda is not biased whatsoever, and the others certainly did not tailor their responses towards her preferred character choices.
In this episode of D&Debates, Corey moderates a spell-centric debate where Amanda, Jake, and Scott argue the best spells, the worst spells, and why spells IRL can lead to Amanda getting into government trouble yet again.
In the seventh installment of D&Debates, we’re looking at a part of D&D that some love and some avoid: feats. How can they be rebalanced to encourage more varied selection? Which feats are the best in terms of flavor and character background? What feat would you take in real life? But most importantly, why would Amanda be able to escape the government?
In episode six of D&Debates, watch a gang of experienced D&D players get upset and confused by the prospect of multi-classing. As Scott, our only regular multiclasser, moderates, watch Amanda, Corey, and Jake build their magical T. Rex characters, roll up some rough characters, and turn the whole debate into a debate over flowcharts. Flowcharts: do they work? Yes. Now back to the topic at hand.
In the fifth episode of D&Debates, we're focusing on those six big numbers that get you to the more important six small numbers: ability scores! Tune in as we uncover their actual purpose, the best generation method, and the best way to abuse our character's superhuman stats. Thankfully Amanda is moderating this one, or else she'd make a strong argument for why "13's all around" is the best ability score array.
Corey Moderates a Debate all about homebrew. Amanda, Jake, and Scott modify character creation, combat, and a new campaign story to see whose brews will lose and which new campaign idea will get a go picture!
In D&Debates Episode Three, Jake moderates a debate focused on bards for Amanda, Corey, and Scott. Bards, whether they be singing or seducing, are a hot topic for conversation. What is the best bard build? What are some needed improvements to the bard spell list? Is a bard like a stick man on an empty canvas? Find out in Episode Three!
Everyone waits for Jake to spill the beans on our BBEG's plans. Scott moderates a debate focused on villains for Amanda, Corey, and Jake. How should you build them up? How should you beat them down? Should we be concerned when our DM mentions an infinite plane of doom and ash where no living thing but the demon lord yet lives? Find out in Episode Two!
In this "first" episode of D&Debates, the gang shares their thoughts on the best way to kick off a campaign. Focusing on new beginnings and level one characters, see how a bunch of overly opinionated DMs approach the opening scene and initial encounter. As Amanda moderates, hear why Jake should go to bed, why Scott should google what a dog looks like, and why everyone should tweet #murderhobowetdream to Corey!
