In the final episode of this secondment series, I reflect on nearly two years of living and leading in the Philippines and the person I have become along the way. What began as a journey rooted in my identity as a first generation Dominican American expanded into something much greater as I became the first in my immediate family to live and work in Asia. Through faith, sacrifice, cultural immersion, leadership, and the Filipino values of Pakikisama, Bayanihan, Kapwa, and Malasakit, I learned that growth does not require abandoning who you are, but expanding who you are. This episode is ultimately about gratitude, generational progress, answering God’s calling, and recognizing that sometimes the greatest manifestation is not the destination or title, but the person you become along the way.
