On April 20,2022 Smiley Martin was incarcerated and awaiting for trial for the Downtown Sacramento mass shooting that happend in 2022 well apparently on June 7, 2024  Smiley Martin was found dead in his cell and the community is questioning if foul play was involved, remember Smiley Martin had reached a $7,500 financial settlement agreement with Sacramento County less than a month before the gun battle that left six dead and 12 wounded, and it was rumored that he was getting released and charges for the mass shooting were about to be dropped due to insufficient evidence that he was involved at all.
