Publisher's Summary:
Let the battle for souls begin in Dead Man's Reach, the fourth standalone novel in D. B. Jackson's acclaimed Thieftaker series. Boston, 1770: The city is a powder keg, as tensions between would-be rebels and loyalist Tories approach a breaking point, and one man is willing to light the match that sets everything off to ensure that he has his revenge. The presence of the British regulars has made thief taking a hard business to be in, and the jobs that are available are reserved for Sephira Pryce. Ethan Kaille has to resort to taking on jobs that he would otherwise pass up, namely protecting the shops of Tories from patriot mobs. But when one British loyalist takes things too far and accidentally kills a young boy, even Ethan reconsiders his line of work. Even more troubling is that instances of violence in the city are increasing, and Ethan often finds himself at the center of the trouble. Once Ethan realizes why he is at the center of all the violence, he finds out that some enemies don't stay buried and will stop at nothing to ruin Ethan's life. Even if that means costing the lives of everyone in Boston, including the people Ethan loves most.

Every book gets better and better!!!!!!!
I find myself searching daily for new books from a select group of authors. This series is one of the select few. Great book, great series!! Can't wait till the next one!
I like this
It was a while when I last read Thieftaker Chronicles book 2 and now when i did get on my hands books 3 and 4 I just read them non stop.
I like that D B Jackson writes unique story and Jonathan Davis reads it a live.
I like this little lazy, slow pace. Rough voice and non horridly reading. All this will make this story and its characters come to life and you fell in love them.
Hopefully this isnt last book that we will hear Ethan Kaille.
The more Kaille bleeds, the more he learns.
The British troops garrisoned in Boston grow bored and tired and the Colonials, dissatisfied with their presence, toss barbs and snowballs. It's a situation that is destined to worsen. All it takes is a little push, and it appears that an unknown conjurer is more than willing to provide it. Spells that overtake a man's will, leaving them moved to violence, are happening wherever Kaille goes.
And then Ethan realizes it's his fault. His magic that is being used without his permission. Seems the mortals of Boston aren't the only ones being spell worked.
I admit to thinking Ethan's initial suspicion regarding the man at fault to be a red herring but no, an old nemesis returns. The ending marks a shift in Ethan's life. Wonder where the series will go from here?
Another great historical fantasy by D.B. Jackson
I have enjoyed the mix of Historical fact and information mixed with just enough fantasy to keep it believable. also between the characters and the little details, Jackson is able to give a real feel for the time and place. I have very much enjoyed the series so far and eagerly await the next book. Regrading Jonathan Davis' narrative, after reading each book myself, I throughly enjoyed listen to them and picking up details and nuances that I had missed on my own. I can't imagine anyone else that would do such a great job with the reading's.
Another Fantastic Story!
This is the fourth book in a fantastic historical urban fantasy.
