Publisher's Summary:
What do Boston, Dublin, and Sierra Leone have in common? The movement of blood diamonds at enormous profit but grave human expense: mafia killings in Boston and Ireland and child enslavement and murder in Sierra Leone. And who is ensnared in the middle of all of this Michael Knight and Lex Devlin. Can they stop the enormously profitable trade of these tainted jewels? They must come between the Italian mafia in North Boston and the Irish mafia in South Boston including some remnants of the IRA in Ireland. They must also pit themselves against the enslaved and deadly child-army in Sierra Leone, who smuggle these diamonds into the mainstream for cash to buy weapons and drugs. At great personal risk, Knight and Devlin struggle to find a solution that satisfies this disparate combination of characters and, hopefully, dampens the diamond flow.

More twists than a corkscrew
Once again the author kept me up far too late at night until I could finish this tale which has more twists than a corkscrew. This book proves the author spent far too much time teaching equity to law students, otherwise he could never have produced such a twisted tale. I have two minor quibbles with this book. In order to keep the reader guessing, the author relies too much on events that stretch the imagination and a super human hero with qualities that I have never found in the real world. Secondly, he doesn't spend enough time on the Boston legal scene which he captures brilliantly when he deals with it.
Diamonds have lost their luster
Eye opening to say the least.
Another great novel by John Dobbyn
Once I picked it up I was unable to stop reading
Once again Knight finds danger yet always fighting for the good people. This book has suspense action and is just a great adventure but then you have to reflect on the injustice that is really happening in these third world countries and you applaud that this novel can possibly shed some international light and possibly find some solutions to these horrors
Dobbyn has done it again!
I've read all his books and I believe he's the next best selling author. I suggest you read each book in the order of publication, since they are somewhat chronological.
The only problem is that I must now wait for his next release. The author thoroughly researches the subject, which I realize takes time. Patience is a small price given the in-depth subject matter provided in each his last four books,
The luck of the Irish to you, Mr. Dobbyn, on your future books!
More than just a thriller
Some books keep you on the edge of your chair, breathless, hardly able to restrain your need to find out what happens next and if the good guys win. Other books widen your view of the world, teaching you that in some "faraway places with strange-sounding names," all is not well, and awakening that part of you that would like to make the world a better place. Jack Dobbyn's latest (and best) Knight and Devlin novel does both of these things. DEADLY DIAMONDS is both thrilling and inspiring ... and should be on everyone's reading list.
