This week on Deaf With The Record Jamie and Ollie discuss arguably the greatest (?) album of the 90s, or at the very least the decade's most lavish and heartbreaking. If you've never listened to Spiritualized then give this album a spin and come back to hear some discussions about its production, influences and utter brilliance (can you tell we really love this one?)

After a few weeks off, in which Jamie and Ollie worked alongside Gareth and the boys to bring football home, DWTR is back for good.
What better way to end the hiatus than with an episode on 'The Score': one of the best hiphop records of the 90s and every bit as good 25 years on. Expect discussions of the group's origins, Lauryn Hill and Wyclef's competing talents, Pras' business acumen, and how Fugees wrote some of the best hooks ever pressed to wax.
Then the usual: YEAR IN MUSIC, APEX, ALTERNATE CUTS AND ALBUM COVER NIGHTCLUB.

Jamie and Ollie could only suppress their English indie impulses for so long, it can't all be The Beach Boys and Fela Kuti, sometimes you just wanna talk about the music you listened to when you were 15, u know?! :'(
Expect discussions of coastal sea-side towns, how Metronomy have managed to hold our interest over all these years, and even some reminiscing about Skins too!
Then the usual: YEAR IN MUSIC, APEX, ALTERNATE CUTS AND ALBUM COVER NIGHTCLUB.

Fela Anikulapo Kuti. The father of afrobeat.
This week Jamie and Ollie chat about one of the most singular and fascinating musicians of the 20th century. Expect discussions of afrobeat as a genre and how it came to be, Fela's political and musical legacy, why Tony Allen is a god and much, much more.

Yes, that's right! We've bloody sold out!! We've gone pop!!!
Episode three of Season 2 focuses on one of Ollie and Jamie's favourite pop records of the noughties - 'Alright, Still.' Remember those halcyon days of 2006? Tabloids, MySpace, Jonathan Ross...!
Expect discussions of Lily's rise to prominence, what a good pop album is all about and then finally the premiere of the hotly anticipated POPSTAR LEAGUES. This might be the best thing DWTR has ever done so get yourself gassed.
Then the usual too: YEAR IN MUSIC, APEX, ALTERNATE CUTS AND ALBUM COVER NIGHTCLUB.

"Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name"
This week Ollie and Jamie talk about the one and only Madvillainy. In the shadow of DOOM's death how has the experience of listening to this album changed? Is Madlib the greatest producer of all time? Is this album-cover going straight into the GOAT section of the nightclub? Expect answers to all these questions and more...

DEAF WITH THE RECORD IS BACK!
The first episode of Season 2 of DWTR takes a look at perhaps the most seminal album we've covered on the show so far - 'Pet Sounds.' Ollie and Jamie talk over everything The Beach Boys, from their early career to the recording of Pet Sounds, before discussing Brian Wilson's genius, Mike Love's villainy and comparisons with The Beatles.
You can also look forward to a collaboration with the Sail On podcast - thanks again to Wyatt for all his expertise and insight.
Expect the usual too: YEAR IN MUSIC, APEX, ALTERNATE CUTS AND ALBUM COVER NIGHTCLUB.
