Getting started. Sigh. It's often so difficult. James Clear talks about being in motion vs taking action (i.e. busy-ness + blah-blah vs actuallt working on something that will render a tangible result). In this episode of Dear Constance, I am talking about getting started on creative endeavors. It's about being experimental, bringing a beginners mind and simply giving ourselves permission to try.
The Beauty and Joy of being included.
"Thank you for including me - not only does it feel good to be the person who invites people in, but it also feels wonderful to be the person who is invited. It takes so little to remember to call someone or to invite them out for a walk to get an ice cream cone on a sultry summer night.
So, my laptop died and I've been struggling to get it fixed. I'm on vacation, and the temptation to just give up and take a break from the podcast was strong. But then I remembered the promise I made to myself - to keep delivering consistent content.
Now, I know that nobody's really grading me or keeping track of my progress. But what really matters to me is staying true to my commitment. That's why I'm embracing my friend Eric's philosophy that "good enough is good enough." I used to be one of those people who would always go the extra mile to make sure everything was perfect. But I've come to realize that sometimes, the pursuit of perfection can become a burden.
So, I'm going to do my best with the resources I have available to me at the moment.
Thanks for listening, from my heart to yours.
