Primos Y Primas, These are uncertain times as the world navigates through what most would consider unthinkable in their lifetimes. The COVID-19 virus has upended life. With the amount of information flooding in from different sources, it’s hard not to become overwhelmed. You are not alone if you feel that way—fear, anxiety, and worry have become constant companions throughout this ordeal. EVEN with this NEW YEAR!!

Your feelings are valid; it doesn’t do any good to ignore your emotions. It’s easy to become affected by the negativity and doubt saturating the news and social media. Now more than ever it’s important to find your anchor within, something to keep you grounded so that you can navigate this storm with resilience rather than be negatively influenced by it.

In this solo episode, we talk about starting the year with a good old fashion brainwash!! Yes hahah but with positivity! A good place to start is by doing a mental detox of anything that isn’t serving you. ⠀—⠀ Dear God, Why don't promises work? 〰️ 🌟
Primos Y Primas, our new normal is getting more real every day. We start our daily mantras with "I promise after COVID I will...."God, I promise if you get me out of this one I will..." and we've been taught to keep our commitments and to not break a promise. You probably go out of your way to make sure you don’t let someone down, but not if that someone is you. If you make promises, set goals or intentions for yourself, they are often the first to go when things get busy. Why is this?

In this solo episode, I want to talk about why breaking promises to yourself is damaging, and how to actually keep them. More often than not, a promise you made to yourself has the purpose of bettering you in some way. Maybe it’s starting to run in the mornings, making time to read, having coffee on your porch in quiet once a week, or getting a massage because you never do anything for you. There’s a reason why you made the promise, whether it’s for health, sanity, or pure joy. However, do these promises create a pressure that dilutes who we are to appease the taste of others or the world? ...Grab that cafecito, Tune in!

An inquisitive mind needed to make sense of what he heard or saw. In time, his questions made me realize that you have to be super honest and clear with children. Children don't know the medical diagnosis of Dementia or Alzheimer's.

In this episode, I have the pleasure of speaking to the author of Mausdrachen - Curse of The Laxness. This book is for children, ages 6 to 10-years-old, to help them understand what Alzheimer's Disease is like for those afflicted; to gain a better understanding of the situation when a family member is diagnosed.
