The reason why I chose Dr. Jackson is because she has a long history of working and doing research in the healthcare system. As an African American women, she has seen firsthand disparities, racial discrimination, and underrepresentation for minority groups. She has been a nurse, client specialist, and now a healthcare management professor advocating for improvement within the healthcare system. This episode will serve as addressing social justice and inequality within the United Health Care System to serve the public. That is why I interviewed Dr. Joanna Jackson, an Assistant Professor of Healthcare Management at Winthrop University. The reason why I interviewed her is that she researched a dissertation about public health care. She has researched about underrepresented racial/ethnic minorities in public health.
