Dear Life Warriors, I want to dispel the myths on mental illness! Meet my friend, Natasha Bowman, President of Performance-Renew, Attorney, Tedx Speaker, Published Author, Professor and she has Bipolar Disorder.
Natasha shared in a recent post on Linked In, "This is the face of someone with Bipolar Disorder. When most people think of someone with mental illness, they often think of someone who shows visible symptoms. Because of the stigma we don't get the support we need"
Overcoming mental health stigma is only one part of a larger effort to foster an organizational culture of psychological safety. That stigma prevents us from talking openly about mental health issues and prevents those who need help the most from seeking it.
I had the pleasure of interviewing Natasha where she shared a little bit of her story and why it was important to let people know of her diagnosis.
Bipolar disorder, formerly called manic depression, is a mental health condition that causes extreme mood swings that include emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). You are not alone. Statistics shows that 1 in every 5 people suffer from this disorder and you do not have to suffer in silence.

Besides this, She is a woman of faith and works for the ministry. . It’s very interesting to see Johana donning multiple hats. That being said, let's step into Johana’s success story for more inspiration…
A quick look back at Johana’s success story:
Initially, things weren’t rosy for Johana. Let’s dwell a little deeper to know more about Johana. So she was on the administrative side. Basically, she had to carry out all the administrative tasks.
Within her short time, she got to know more about insurance, billing and anything and everything related to revenue cycle management. And to date, she hasn’t looked back. All her hard work reaped into success and now she is a successful revenue cycle management consultant.
At present, Johana has got a good amount of experience in revenue cycle management operations & project management in healthcare clinics and inpatient and outpatient, etc. She’s been consulting since 2015. That’s a huge transformation from an ordinary woman to an extraordinary and self-employed woman!
What is Revenue Cycle Management in healthcare and what do the RCM Consultants do?
Revenue Cycle Management/RCM is like a backbone for the healthcare industry. The healthcare revenue cycle management is the financial process of collecting medical payments for the bills to generate/ bring revenue for the healthcare organizations. RCM involves collecting patient’s data(personal information), administrative data, insurer’s name and treatment codes, with financial billing information.
Key takeaways:
Johana always planned her work in advance. She had the habit of planning, organizing all her tasks in advance. The next big thing she always motivated herself. Yes, self-motivation is the key, so motivate yourself and plan your work ahead.
Besides, she has her morning routine. Johana makes her morning productive. She reads the Bible, meditates, or plans her to-do activities for the day. She loves her job and is more dedicated and committed to her work. Start your day by doing something constructive and be committed to what you do!
Never get upset by rejection. Put on your strategic hat and move on to the next phase of work. Don’t stay put in one place. And don’t let your emotions steal your happiness and creativity. Keep going with the flow. Live the moment and enjoy your life to the fullest. Be positive! Motivate. Inspire. and empower others.
