But God is not satisfied with 99% your obedience. He is so holy that he declares death on all who are not 100% perfect in obedience. And the problem is, no one can keep any of God's law perfectly. More, to please God, you must have faith in Christ, obey according to the law of Jesus Christ, and do it for the glory of Christ. So since God's standards are unreachable because of man's sins and he was expelled from the Garden of Eden and condemned, man needed someone to take that condemnation for him. In short, man needed someone to atone for his sins. But if man took God's punishment, he would go to hell and stay there forever. That is one option. The other option is that man could get someone better than he to fully make atonement for him…and rise from the dead…so man could get that credit. Hear the details of Christ's atonement for sinners.
