  • Sometimes You've Just Got To Walk It Off
The sermon explores the decision of the Apostle Paul to walk twenty miles to Asos rather than sail, interpreting this choice as a necessary response to the trauma of witnessing Eutychus fall to his death. The central message emphasizes that some trials cannot be bypassed by taking the easy route or relying on external comfort; instead, believers must engage in a personal, often difficult process of working through their pain with God. Key themes include the impact of sudden tragedy on a minister's confidence, the distinction between mere comfort and genuine praise, and the importance of maintaining one's testimony amidst external blame and internal turmoil. The tone is pastoral and convicting, urging the audience to recognize that enduring hardship with faith leads to spiritual maturity and a deeper, tear-tested belief. The text highlights that while God provides mercy and restoration, the individual must actively process the event to regain confidence and continue serving effectively.

  • God's choice of us and for us
But **God hath chosen** the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and **God hath chosen** the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; (1 Corinthians 1:27) ~~~~ This sermon was preached at Colnbrook Strict Baptist Chapel. ~~~~ *1/ God's choice of us. 2/ God choosing for us. 3/ Our choices based on God's choices.* **Sermon Summary:** The sermon explores the doctrine of divine election, emphasizing that God sovereignly chooses His people before the foundation of the world to ensure that no flesh glories in His presence. It examines how this eternal choice extends to practical aspects of life, including birth, talents, the manner of redemption through Christ, and the specific tribulations and timing of death, all of which are appointed by God's will. The message contrasts human free will with divine sovereignty, illustrating that while humans possess the capacity to choose, God's overarching plan remains unthwarted by sin or circumstance. Believers are encouraged to align their personal decisions with God's revealed will, relying on prayer, Scripture, and providence to navigate life's paths. The tone is pastoral and comforting, urging submission to God's hidden purposes and trust in His faithful guidance through both joy and suffering.

  • The Ministry of the Spirit
This sermon explores the concept of the believer's daily ministry as described in 2 Corinthians, emphasizing that this role is not limited to evangelism but encompasses all interpersonal relationships. The central message is that believers should not lose heart because their adequacy comes from God, who makes them vessels of His life and righteousness. The exposition highlights the New Covenant, referencing Jeremiah 31, where God writes His law on the heart, forgives sin, and enables a personal knowledge of Him that transforms the believer from glory to glory. This internal transformation results in a 'sweet aroma' that impacts others, either leading them to life or death, depending on their response. The tone is encouraging and instructional, urging the audience to trust in the Spirit's work within them and to maintain confidence in their significance as part of God's kingdom.

  • Birthrate Implosion or Mass Immigration? - The Third Option No One Talks About
If anti-immigration nationalist parties have their way, countries like Germany and the UK will essentially disappear by 2075 due to plummeting birth rates. But if immigration continues, those countries will be run by Muslims. We're looking at the most massive geopolitical shift since the fall of the Roman Empire in AD 476 – but there is still reason to be hopeful! Kevin Swanson and Bill Jack discuss the wildcard that no one is talking about: Christians having babies. They reveal some surprising facts about: - How Africa will have 100x the population of the UK by 2075 – and are on track to be majority Christian - How 33% of American children will be in Christian education within 30 years, if trends continue - How the Chinese are failing to recover from their suicidal one-child-per-family policy - And how once self-worship is institutionalized into a culture of death, the only way back is repentance and faith in the life-giving gospel that denies self and worships the true God. • To Live is Christ to Die is Gain (Mr. Jorge Vencel Graveside Service)
This message was for Mr. Jorge Vencel's graveside service today at Mount Hope Cemetery in San Diego per request of his wife Carmen and daughter Sandra, whom Pastor Grant worked with ministering to Jorge and them during their time with Apreva Hopsice which Pastor Grant works for as a FT Chaplain. The message reflected the Bible verse Mr. Vencel kept saying to Mrs. Vencel preparing to go to heaven, Philippians 1:21: "To live is Christ, to Die is gain." While it is better for a Christian's fellow saints to stay and live and serve them, it is far better for that Christian to die and live with Christ. It is normal for a Christian to desire to die on earth and live with Jesus in heaven. The poem quoted at the beginning (learned of through Apreva Hospice training via BrightSpring Health Services): I Am Standing Upon The Seashore. I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone" Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!" And that is dying... • The Victory of God's People
The sermon centres on Joshua 1:3 and it presents the book of Joshua not as a call to present day physical warfare but as a picture of spiritual realities and encouragements for God's people in the midst of present day spiritual warfare. The conquest of Canaan visually demonstrated God's superior power, the danger of sin in the camp (seen in Ai with Achan), and the need for faith. Canaan itself is a type pointing beyond the physical land to an everlasting heavenly inheritance. Joshua offers encouragements of spiritual victory already secured in Christ and a foretaste of the full rest to come. When Christ returns, even death—the last enemy—will be put under His feet. With Christ there is victory and entrance into the heavenly Canaan; without Him there is only a return to Egypt and exclusion from the blessings of Canaan.

  • A Memorable Day
The sermon examines the narrative in Joshua 10 where Joshua leads Israel into battle against a confederacy of five kings, highlighting the unique day when God answered Joshua's prayer for the sun to stand still. The central message emphasizes that faith is defined by confidence in the Lord amidst conflict, rather than the absence of difficulty. The preacher connects this historical event to contemporary cultural battles, urging believers to contend for the faith while trusting in God's sovereign power to overcome impossible odds. The victory is attributed entirely to the Lord, who fought for Israel, demonstrating that divine intervention, not human strategy, secures triumph. This earthly victory serves as a pointer to the greater spiritual victory achieved by Christ at Calvary, where He defeated sin and death. The sermon concludes with an exhortation to give God all the glory and to pray for memorable days of spiritual revival and answered prayer.
