  • God Leads Many Sons to Glory
Hebrews 2:10 makes the statement that it was "fitting" for the Creator who is the Son to bring many sons to glory through suffering. We highlight and explain key theological words from the original Greek which profoundly describe the unique role of the Son in His redemptive work. The suffering of Messiah likely offended some Jews since they were expecting a conquering King to vanquish Israel's enemies. Instead, He came to suffer and through His death pay the penalty for sin. This made possible the bringing of mans sons to glory. The verses we cover are rich with allusions to the OT. We cite the pertinent passages and show how they apply. God brough Israel to Himself through the Exodus and revealed His glory at Sinai. Yet they were separated from God because they could not even touch Sinai lest they die. Jesus brings sons to Himself and promises future glory for all who belong to Him. We cite passages in Romans 8 which demonstrate this truth. We also cite Psalm 22 which is referenced here in Hebrews as well as Isaiah 8. Messiah calls believers "brothers" in Psalm 22:22. God gives children to the Son. The glory of salvation is thematic here and we explain the full impact of what it means to be saved.

  • Misinterpreting the Need
The sermon challenges believers to recognize the absolute urgency of sharing the gospel, arguing that spiritual need intensifies rather than pauses during difficult times. Drawing primarily from John chapter four, the speaker highlights Jesus' determination to go through Samaria despite rising opposition, illustrating that evangelism is a divine imperative equal in importance to Christ's death and resurrection. The message critiques the tendency to prioritize personal comfort, career, or trivial excuses over the Great Commission, labeling such avoidance as a tragic misinterpretation of Christian duty. By contrasting Jesus' non-negotiable mission with human reluctance, the text urges the church to view soul-winning not as an optional activity but as an essential, life-defining priority. Ultimately, the preacher calls for a shift from self-centered living to active obedience, emphasizing that believers must remain connected to Christ to effectively reach the lost.
