Welcome to Episode 6 of Up and Away, the Australian Aviation Podcast!

On this episode, I'm thrilled to announce I'll be joined by airline pilot and Australian aviation pioneer Deborah Lawrie!

Many of you might already know Deborah, who in 1979 won a landmark anti-discrimitation case in Australia's high court against Ansett Airlines, becoming the first woman to be a pilot with a major Australian airline.

We have a chat about her journey up until the famous battle with Ansett, including working as a flight instructor and air-racing! We also discuss her career at three major airlines spanning two continents, how we can inspire women to pursue a career in aviation, as well as her passion for flight safety.

Don't forget to subscribe, as well as follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and if you love the show, please leave us a review!
