Welcome to Episode 11 of Up and Away, the Australian aviation Podcast!
On this week's show we have author and aviation writer, Kathy Mexted!
Kathy has written a brilliant new book entitled 'Australian Women Pilots' that shares the unique stories of 10 women aviators spanning the past century. Some of the stories include early aviation pioneer Nancy Bird Walton, Australia's first woman airline pilot Deborah Lawrie, Gaby Kennard who was the first Australian woman to circumnavigate the globe solo, to ag pilot Georgia Maxwell, and more!
I've been lucky enough to read it, and it's a fun and exciting book with some great adventures and it will leave you wanting more. So I encourage you all to pre-order a copy from your local bookstore, or online.
Meanwhile, have a listen to my chat with Kathy. We talk all about the book and her life as a pilot and aviation writer so far. Trust me, we didn't put in any spoilers!
I'm also excited to announce I will be hosting the online book launch party on the 1st of November! So we hope to see you there. There is a link to this and to order the book below!
