It's new episode time!  Unfortunately the overall situation around the world has not really changed that much.   Although it does appear that there may be some steps toward the positive, we still have a ways to go.   So, in light of that, as we mentioned in our last episode this one will be another shorter, special episode with less focus on debt and more on the current event.   

Stepping back a bit from the podcasting amid all the uncertainty in the world at the moment.   We are both still healthy and doing well, and will at the least do another check in on our regular schedule.   Just wanted to let you all know what's going on and take a second to send everybody a wish to stay safe and keep calm.   We will get through this.

 This episode we take a look at what can be a big problem with those that live paycheck to paycheck and run into troubles - payday loans.   With apologizes to Wimpy for paraphrasing his catchphrase it just seemed to fit.   Plus while talking about this topic we both had it come to us at about the same time, so we had to use it.   After looking at some of the aspects of these predatory loans we also explore some possible ways to help a person not get into the, seeming, endless cycle around payday loans.   As a bit of a 'challenge' to our listeners, we are curious to see if anyone can identify where one of my (numerous) random pop culture references is from.  Hopefully you won't use Google to get it! ;)  

Welcome to Season 2!  We decided that we would classify our 'seasons' by the half year mark and this episode marks our start into a new season.  To start off our new season we talk a little about baby step #1 - having an emergency savings fund.   We also continue the debate on which puayment method works best by providing our updates after 6 months being on our keto budget.

We've all heard at least some of them - whether it is YUPPIE, DINK or FIRE to name a few.   These acronyms are used to help define a person (or group).   While these, and others, are find and can help describe someone using less words we wanted to get some that more fit us and our unique journey into being debt free.   This episode we share some of the ones we came up with for ourselves.   

Technically it's the snowball method, but I was called a snowflake so it (kind of) fits.   This episode we give an update on how the snowball vs avalanche is working for us.   Progress is being made of both sides and neither of us is willing to admit defeat just yet.   However, I can feel my claim to winning this slipping away.   We also talk a little about a popular method of debt elimination - balance transfers.   

We are back with a new episode and we brought a guest with us!  Anthony joins us and talks about his experience with filing bankruptcy.   We also talk a little bit about some of the different options when filing for bankruptcy.   We want to send out thanks to Anthony for his openness and being willing to share the details on a very personal subject.

We touched upon the subject of wills in episode 10, Don't Be Scared,  and now that mercury retrograde is over we expand on the subject.   During this episode we try and make sense out of the process.  What happens to your stuff if you die without a will?   How can you be sure your precious belongings go to the proper person?  We search through the data and give you the details.   After that we give some updates on our adventures in cutting the cord!
