Toby Mergler is joined by guest Brad Evans for the inaugural episode of Trendy. Toby explains the show format: a five segment picks show featuring heart, head, heater and cred bets. Toby then dishes on the show being inspired not just by his love of not just beating the books, but winning against his friends and spending their hard earned money. The competition begins with Toby using his Heart pick on a struggling Yankees team while Brad backs his hometown Cubs, naturally sparking a discussion about which condiments belong on hotdogs. Brad delivers a shocking twist on Clayton Kershaw’s prospects with his Head pick while Toby follows up in the Heater segment with some thoughts on NFL Week 1 unders. The guys follow with their Cred bets and in the “Tail or Fail” segment, Brad backs Toby on Gerrit Cole and the Yankees despite their earlier confrontation over condiments. To wrap up, the two reminisce over nostalgic movies from their past.
