December 9th

The bible reading today is in Romans 8-10.

“There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬

What a blessed assurance for those in Christ...absolutely no condemnation by the Righteous Judge at the Great White Throne Judgment to come.

When one is in Christ by faith and Christ is in that person by the Holy Spirit, that oneness means no condemnation. The only way for a person in Christ to be condemned would be for Jesus to be condemned.

And that’s not going to happen...again. He has already been judged on the cross when he took our sin upon himself and then bore God’s full wrath for it...for us.

Thus....no condemnation for those in Christ...what great news! O and there is more explanation to that good news story.

“For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. The Spirit of life in Christ sets a person free...free from the law of sin and death. The law of the partnership of sin and death is worth trembling over.

Why? Because the wages of sin is death. The payday for sin is death...which means separation from God...no heaven...just hell!

However...“God has done what his law was not designed to do. Where the law convicts and condemns sinners God was going to save them.

So he sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh for sin.

Did you catch that? God sent his son “for sin”...God was going to do something concerning sin with his son.

So God condemned sin (our sin fellow believer) in the flesh of his son Jesus...”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:2-3‬ ‭

So there would be no condemnation for the sinners whom God chose and who believed Jesus.

Great news for sure...But there is more to the great salvation for those in Christ.

“For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God."

What does the Holy Spirit do for the sons and daughters of God? The indwelling Holy Spirit leads us, brothers and sisters. That’s part of his ministry...to lead and guide us in the way and ways of God. May we trust him, friends, every day.

For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear...The Holy Spirit does not treat us like slaves...but rather as adopted sons snd daughters, like...on purpose, chosen... for love and for life...who cry, “Abba! Father!”

Children who have a close relationship with God...close enough to run to him and call him, Daddy.

And....the Holy Spirit bears testimony to our heart that we are the children of God,”

Romans‬ ‭8:14-16‬

How wonderful a salvation is ours in Christ. Thank you, Jesus
