The tiny sliver of people at the top of multilevel marketing run in the same circles. They are in the same club. They promote each other. They recommend each other. AND they are on the lookout for up incomers who have vast networks they can exploit.  On the outside, it needs to "appear" as if these people did it through hard work and determination alone. BUT is that really the case? Is it possible that in reality those plumb positions are given to people and those individuals have downlines handed to them so that they can get up on stage and rally the onlookers to keep believing in the dream?  Robert Fitzpatrick and I discuss how people get to the top. MLM will tell you it all starts with your mindset. Working on your mindset is one way they keep you busy and unable to think critically about the reality of your situation in MLM.

Connie was at the top of not one, but two multilevel marketing companies. Thankfully, she saw the light and left.  Along the way she discovered some ugly truths top earners disguise or fail to ever mention. Keeping the truth hidden is part of the game. If people knew the reality who would actually join?

Multilevel Marketing as an "industry" and as individual corporations claims that it "uplifts" and "empowers" women. The "opportunity" tells you that you can have more time with your family and earn money from your home just by using your phone.  Those who have peeled back the many layers of multilevel marketing see the "opportunity" very differently. In this conversation with Dr Máire O Sullivan we discuss her views as a feminist on multilevel marketing.

The numbers don't add up the way you think they will when you become a multilevel marketing distributor for insert company name.  The multilevel marketing company does not matter. The compensation plan offered does not matter. Not all MLMs publish income disclosure statements and those that do, the data is muddy at best because it is not presented in a way that is easy to discern.  I suspect that there is some intentional deception why else not be straight forward? Data should be easy to understand and these "companies" make it impossible to know how many people are at each level, how long they have been able to maintain the level, and what the real likelihood it is for anyone to replace their income through a multilevel marketing "opportunity."  Spoiler alert - it will not replace the income you earn from an employer. It is an illusion.

Darren and Mike, like other Enagic "leaders" are NOT upfront at all about what you get involved with when you say YES to the "opportunity" they present.  Be careful. Be very careful who you listen to and believe. Don't stop at this podcast. Do your own research. Find something to sell to people in multilevel marketing. Ted Nuyten did just that. In an attempt to legitimize the industry Ted serves up a list of recommended distributors. Granted, each one featured PAID to be on the list.  He also lists top companies. They too PAY Ted. Basically, any information you get from Te's Business for Home, someone paid for it to be there.  Yeah it's such a legit business that there is a paid company to make everyone think it is possible to make a great income shilling MLM crap.
