  • The True Work of the Holy Spirit
The primary work of the Holy Spirit as defined by Jesus in John 16, is to reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Nowhere does the Scripture teach that the work or evidence of the Holy Spirit is to generate emotional excitement or supernatural displays. Many modern church practices, such as an emphasis on speaking in tongues or intense emotional responses, are misidentified as the Spirit's work and may instead be deceptive, fleshly, or even the work of Satan. 1 John 4:1 tells us "Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." The work of the Spirit of God will always direct attention to Jesus Christ. True salvation is evidenced by a surrendered life to Christ's lordship and a conviction that only His righteousness can save - not by excitement and emotionalism, and what appear to be supernatural happenings. The exaltation of Christ is the ultimate proof of the Holy Spirit's presence.

  • A Short Clip from the Schemes of Satan
This sermon examines the nature of Satan, identifying his primary tactics as deception, doubt, and the exploitation of human weakness and desolation. It emphasizes the critical importance of guarding the mind against distorted thoughts by filtering them through Scripture, citing Proverbs and Philippians. The teaching asserts that Satan operates strictly under the sovereignty of God, using the example of Job to demonstrate that divine permission sets the limits of his power and that such trials serve a greater purpose in proving the security of salvation. The message warns against the danger of delay in responding to the gospel, comparing the current opportunity to the closed door of Noah's ark. Ultimately, it presents Satan as a defeated foe whose final destination is the lake of fire, encouraging believers to resist him with confidence in Christ's victory.

  • Do Not Give Place
This sermon explores the concept of 'topos,' or giving legal ground to the enemy, as a primary cause of spiritual defeat and demonic influence in the lives of believers. It emphasizes that Satan operates through deception and accusation, exploiting unresolved issues such as occult involvement and unhealed bitterness. The message outlines a biblical framework for freedom, beginning with a firm commitment to Christ and the renunciation of any past involvement in the occult. Central to the teaching is the necessity of genuine repentance and the three-step process of dealing with bitterness: releasing offenders to God, forgiving from the heart, and accepting ongoing consequences. The preacher argues that failing to address these internal wounds allows Satan to maintain control, whereas standing in the finished work of Christ and extending grace leads to true spiritual victory.

  • The Wisdom of Leaving Wine Alone
The sermon examines the biblical wisdom regarding the consumption of alcoholic beverages, arguing that abstinence is the prudent choice for Christians. It highlights the deceptive nature of wine, which promises pleasure but often leads to misery, broken relationships, and loss of judgment. By analyzing passages from Proverbs, the message emphasizes that wine is a mocker that compromises the clarity of mind required for wise decision-making and spiritual leadership. The speaker urges believers to consider the negative influence their actions have on others, citing the command to avoid causing a brother to stumble. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a decision of devotion, encouraging believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit rather than indulging in the excess of wine.

  • Knowledge Wisdom and Understanding
The fear of the Lord is the foundation of knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, and all three are necessary for a life that pleases God. Knowledge is learning what is true from His Word, understanding is discerning what that truth means and how it all fits together, and wisdom is putting that truth into practice through obedience. Simply knowing Scripture without obeying it produces no spiritual growth and can lead to pride and self-deception. Wisdom is the principal thing because it directs our choices, while obedience leads to greater understanding and a desire for more knowledge. God gives these things to those who humbly seek Him, carefully study His Word, pray for wisdom, and willingly obey what they learn. The evidence is a changed life that departs from evil and reflects Christ in our speech, decisions, relationships, and daily conduct.

  • Israel's Example
The sermon presents the Book of Jude as an urgent call for believers to contend for the faith against false teachers who distort grace into license for sin or legalism. By analyzing the historical example of Israel's failure to enter the Promised Land due to unbelief, the message warns that external religious participation without genuine faith in Christ is insufficient for salvation. The speaker emphasizes the necessity of personal assurance in the person of Jesus, distinguishing between the law that condemns and the grace that saves, while urging the church to maintain doctrinal purity. Drawing on 1 Corinthians 10 and Hebrews 3, the text illustrates how God's blessings can be rejected through murmuring and idolatry, serving as a cautionary pattern for the modern church. Ultimately, the sermon encourages believers to examine their own hearts, ensure their salvation is secure, and lovingly equip one another to recognize and resist deception in the final days. Questions: Why did God destroy the Israelites in the wilderness after rescuing them from Egypt? What does Jude 5 mean when it says God destroyed those who believed not? Can someone experience God's blessings and still not truly believe in Him? Why did only Joshua and Caleb enter the Promised Land? What does the Israelites' unbelief in the wilderness teach Christians today? What does it mean to contend for the faith in Jude 3? How can false teachers creep into a church without anyone noticing? What does it mean to turn the grace of God into a license to sin? What is the difference between salvation by grace and living in obedience to Christ? Is Christ in me or am just going through the motions?

  • Spiritual Discernment
This sermon addresses the critical need for spiritual discernment in an age of abundant information yet widespread confusion. Drawing from Hebrews 5, the message argues that discernment is not a mystical gift but a muscle developed through the steady, daily exercise of God's Word. It identifies the danger of remaining in spiritual infancy, characterized by dullness of hearing and a reliance on milk rather than strong meat, which leaves believers vulnerable to deception. The preacher outlines the moral and spiritual implications of this lack of discernment in social, political, and financial spheres, emphasizing that true maturity involves distinguishing good from evil based on settled knowledge of Scripture. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a disciplined practice of reading, praying, and obeying the Bible to train one's senses and achieve the full age of Christian maturity.
