On Ep. 15, DeenFellas discusses the only thing that we as a society 100% agree on and is confirmed for each one of us which that we are not immortal and that life itself, will come to an end. The cast discuss coming to terms with this and provide perspective.
There is a major controversy this week regarding Omar Suleiman (a highly prestigious and famous YouTube Imam) and whether or not he committed Shirk (one of the most major sins) during a Freedom For Immigrants March. There is video footage of what seems to be the Imam engaging in Pagan activities (non-Islamic). DeenFellas discusses this case from our point of view and what the streets are saying on the matter.
Often times, we think an old friend, ex-colleague, an ex-girlfriend, spouse or family is our worst enemy. However, the Qu'ran teaches us different. Although we may hurt or fight with each other for one reason or another, our worst enemy is the Saitan (the Devil). His goal for us to be in constant conflict, bickering, unrest and disunity. DeenFellas dives in on the Devil's plot.
On Episode 12, the team at DeenFellas discusses jealous, envy and hate and give our own experience and point of view on that matter. DeenFellas tries to shed light on: What does the deen teach us about these feelings and should we react (if anything) if and when we feel this way? How do we deal with others that are jealous, envious or hate on us?
On Episode 11, the DeenFellas crew discusses Mental Health and how it is one of the topics that always gets swept under the rug or treated as if its' non existent. The fellas try to once again, bring about topics that are REAL in order to provide some basic level of understanding of "what mental health is" and "what goes on in the community." The Deen itself provides remedies and some narrative around this topic well over 1400+ years ago.
This can be the beginning of a much longer conversation here at DeenFellas.
We made it to DOUBLE DIGITS - In Episode 10, Deenfellas discusses "Consequences" and that have every action has a reaction whether bad or good. Life is a long journey but if you are self aware of consequences and with the right mindset, it can turn into a motivational for prevention of going down a wrong path. All this can begin from the choice of one minor bad action. Many times, we think about the consequences happening in the afterlife, however through experiences, the guys at Deenfellas shed light on consequences materializing in this life
When trying to get a message across, knowing your audience is key. You may have the perfect message for the recipient however, when it's not package correctly or placed in the right context, it can cause a damaging effect rather than a beneficial one.
Audiences can also differ based on several factors: age, sex, hobbies/interests, experiences, nationality, etc. DeenFellas dives into this topic since it is vital when communicating ideas, feelings and a certain point of view of a topic to our peers.
Having the right crew is essential for growth. In Episode 8, DeenFellas discuss how your peers (family, friends, associates) can have influence over you and ultimately dictate your personality, goals and interests. Our biggest asset is TIME and we ant to make sure that we choose the right folks around us so that we can benefit from each other in this life and/or the next.
Being raised in the Big Apple, the guys at DeenFellas discuss fashion, name brand labels, experiences and whether or not it is considered acceptable to have swagger while being Muslim. The short answer is of course you can but like everything, there are limitations and protections that need to be applied for both the intention and action.
You Can Inspire; I Can Inspire; We All Can Inspire.
In Episode 6 - the guys at DeenFellas tap into inspiration and the fact that you be inspired by anyone and you yourself can be an inspiration to others. DeenFellas describe our own experiences of individuals that have inspired us and the key to it all which is providing "value."
