And he [Prophet Yunus] called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers."

فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَن لَّا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Allah ﷻ said regarding both Prophets Sulaymān and Ayyūb: “An excellent servant, indeed he was one repeatedly turning back [to Allah ].”

نِعْمَ الْعَبْدُ ۖ إِنَّهُ أَوَّابٌ

How did Adam and Eve react after making a mistake, and how did Iblis, the devil himself?

Adam and Eve, due to their humility, sought forgiveness.

However, due to his arrogance, Iblis did not.

Let us learn from this on a practical level, and ask God for His forgiveness.

A man asked Rasulullah ﷺ, “When will the Hour be established?” Rasulullah ﷺ said, “What have you prepared for it?” The man said, “I haven’t prepared for it much of prayers or fast or charity, but I love Allah and His Messenger.” Rasulullah ﷺ said, “You will be with those whom you love.”

Anas narrated that Rasulullah ﷺ said:

“None of you would be considered a [complete] believer until I become more beloved to him than his family, wealth and all of people.”
