On the day to remember the victory of China's war against Japanese aggression, we bring you the untold story of a 20-year journey of seeking and healing for the victims of Japan's biological warfare in Lishui, Zhejiang, between 1942-1944.
The victims, most of them villagers now in their 80s or 90s, have endured a lifetime of suffering, physically and psychologically, from the atrocity. Volunteers who came to their aid wish the victims’ voices to be heard, as local communities still face threats from these germ weapons 80 years after they were developed.
