Pastor Donnie Helms from the North Wadesboro Baptist Church preached our first night of revival. He preached from I Peter chapter one. 

Homecoming service 2026, former pastor Jim Phillips brought us a message about the 10 Virgins from Matthew 25. 

During one of the Jewish festivals, the Lord Jesus meets a man who had been paralyzed for 38 years. Gathered with other invalids at the Pool of Bethesda, he hoped to be healed.  When Jesus found him and realized he had been a long time in that condition, He asked him a question that carried many implications.  Did the man really want to be made whole? The story has an interesting turn of events.  We aren't told whether the man ever followed Jesus or not. 

After the festivities of the feast of Tabernacles, the Lord Jesus explained that He was the Light of the world. One of the seven great "I AM" statements in the gospel of John.  Those who follow Him will not walk in darkness. 

We come to the conclusion of Stephen's long speech in Acts. Instead of cries of repentance, the crowd cries for Stephen to be stoned.  The angry mob is contrasted with Stephen, who is a picture of serenity.  He is filled with the Holy Spirit.  He sees a vision of the glorified Christ at the right hand of God.  In death, he calls upon Jesus to receive his spirit and prays for the forgiveness of his murderers.  There are many parallels between Stephen and Jesus Christ. 

We continue in our study of Stephen's speech before the Sanhedrin. He takes them back in history to the Tabernacle in the Wilderness. God met with His people in that portable structure in the days of Moses and the Judges. Finally, David had a desire to build a permanent house for God.  His son, Solomon would build the Temple of the Lord.  But even he knew that God's glory could not be contained in that structure. Now God has His people for His temple. The Spirit of God permanently indwells every believer in Christ! Stephen ends with a judgment on the crowd that was resisting the Holy Spirit. 

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, an inventory is in order. In today's message we look at the history of our nation and the Founding Fathers. We also discuss the present rebellion against God which has brought about His wrath of abandonment. Finally, we look at the future. What can we expect as a nation if things continue as they are? 

We continue studying Stephen's speech to the Sanhedrin. He has been accused of blaspheming God and Moses. In his defense, Stephen shows that it is the nation of Israel who has consistently rejected Moses and the Law.  Even from their infancy as a nation, they fashioned a golden calf while Moses was receiving the Law.  Eventually they graduated from the golden calf to worshipping the host of heaven. This resulted ultimately in the Babylonian captivity.  

In this message, Pastor Ross encouraged the congregation by reminding them of God's promises.  Dads (and all believers) can count on the "Promise of God's Presence", the "Promise of God's Precepts", the "Promise of God's Provision", and the "Promise of Prayer." Listen and be encouraged! 

Stephen's speech is the longest recorded sermon in the book of Acts.  As he stands before the Sanhedrin, he provides them with a history lesson. Beginning with Abraham and the patriarchs, he shows how God's activity was never limited to Israel or the Temple.  They also have a pattern of rejecting their deliverers the first time. The patriarchs were moved with envy and rejected Joseph.  Joseph is seen as a type of Christ.
