In this episode, we'll take a dive into lots of information about habits. What they are, how they're formed, what they do. They say a lot about us. When they are managed well, we have discipline. We can do the daily things easily and have energy to do something that isn't quite as regular. You can change your habits when you understand the why behind them. As my coach says, "If you justify it, you will repeat it. If you interrupt it, you will stop it." Reading Gods Word and practicing the presence of God are habits that are life-changing. They work if you work them. Be encouraged as you listen.
I've heard so many phrases about what you deserve. You deserve a cookie, a vacation, someone that gets you. In this episode, I try to go a little deeper into the subject and give my humble opinion about what is actually being said when the phrase is used. Have a listen and I hope it helps.
This is the gospel. This is the good news after we heard what the Law told us. That we didn't measure up, we fell short, we missed it, we're not perfect. But the love and grace of God made a way for us to be forgiven. He sent Jesus to die in our place. He bore the punishment the Law required so we could go free. We can now know the amazing saving grace that He freely gives us and appreciate it so much. I hope you are encouraged as you listen.
What makes you a good person? There are people who do good things, as well as people who don't. In this episode, I compare our humanity to the 10 Commandments. You might be thinking, '10 Commandments? Isn't that old and outdated?'. Its my conviction that the 10 Commandments are still valid today. They are God's Moral Law. We've made 52 million other laws to try keep these 10. I am quick to admit I haven't kept all 10 all the time. I'm more than just human, I'm a sinner. Nobody's perfect, right? This episode is kind of a sobering one but one that I wanted to share with you because it's important. Have a listen with me and then, after, evaluate your life and see where you stand.
Welcome to another episode! I'm diving right in to a phrase I've heard but when placed against what Scripture has said, we see that it doesn't work. You are 3 different parts: You are a spirit, you have a soul, and you live in a body. Being spiritually minded is the way to live and peace. We see that the mind chooses either to please the body, or the mind chooses the things of the spirit. Join me in finding out the way God wants us to live and how to do it.
When you think of self love, it could translate to 'me first' and that's the wrong kind. The real good love and acceptance happens when we look at ourselves through God's lenses. We accept ourselves based on what Jesus did for us. It's a very humble and grateful self love. The kind that gives you peace. You don't need to beat yourself up over your shortcomings. There's a way to confess and receive forgiveness and move on. The same way that God looks at Jesus- holy, perfect, beautiful- is the same way He looks at you if you're in Him. Join me in this ad lib of an episode as we talk about it.
In this episode, we see how amazing and strong and eternal the love of God is for us. He loves us by choice. His love is perfect to us. There's nothing we can do to deserve it and nothing can separate us from it. When we experience and know His love for us, we can love the people that are around us. I love the analogy of 'overflowing' as opposed to 'pouring'. Join me in listening to how great Gods love is for us. It'll change your life!
Love isn't just a feeling or something that happens to you. It's more than that. It's an action, something that you choose to do. In todays episode, we'll look at what the Bible says about how to love. Join me in digging in to the qualities that are in 1 Corinthians 13.
In this episode, we'll take a fork in the road at Eph 4:15 and talk about the love part. Where does it come from? Who are we supposed to love? Join me as we dive into the very deep subject of love.
