3 definitions of saving faith.
Austin Farrer, C. S. Lewis, Watchman Nee.
Individuals are the focus of God’s redemptive work.
God called out to Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden (Gen. 3:9) and said, “Where are you?”
Jesus asked His disciples, “Whom do YOU say that I am?” (Matt. 16:13-20).
In speaking to the individual Zacchaeus, Jesus said, “Today salvation has come to THIS HOUSE . . . . For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:5-10).
The apostle Paul said, “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief” (1 Tim. 1:15b-16).
You can’t wander too far, do too much, and disappoint so embarrassingly that God can’t forgive and save you (think King David and the apostle Paul). You are not abandoned. You are not unseen. You are not God-forgotten. You are not outside His purview. His presence is closer than you or I think. At this very moment, we are on His mind. When Jesus was on the cross, we were on His mind. That is why salvation can come to YOUR HOUSE today.
I will also share with you some details from my own testimony of coming to the Lord.
