You must believe in the Trinity to call yourself a Christian.  Without that we have a false understanding of who Jesus is.  Just because it is hard to understand doesn't mean we don't believe it.

Yes.  That is a central tenet of the Christian faith and is everything our faith hinges upon.  If Jesus didn't rise then he was just another guy.  I explain more in this episode.

Believe it or not the church gives a lot of freedom as to what one may believe.  There are a lot of different creation theories out there.  As Catholics we have to stay within the following three parameters:

Some of our Protestant friends will look at various catholic devotions, such as the rosary and call it vain repetition.  They often cite Matthew 6:7, but in doing so they are looking at the passage out of context.  The rosary does not fall into this category.  It is not vain repetition.

There is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church.  This has been the teaching of the church since it was established and continues to be the teaching today.  However there is a misunderstanding as to what this means.  Today I clear it up.

We can have faith that the Testament in accurate because of the amount of ancient manuscripts we have, ancient historians that speak of it, and history has been unable to disprove it.  Karl Keating has a wonderful quote about Christianity.  He said “Christianity is the easiest religion to disprove, just show us the bones.”

Some of our Protestant friends are quick to point out that St. Augustine, in his latter years, wrote retractations in which he says that Peter's profession of faith is a rock on which the church is built.  Retractation is not a retraction.  It is not an eithor or proposition, but both.  Peter is the rock as is his profession of faith.

Everyone has a gift that can be used to build up the church.  No gift is too small and no gift is insignificant.  You have a gift that that can help build up the church.  Use it!

The progressive Christian movement is popular but problematic.  Under the disguise of being welcoming core tenets of the Christian faith are undermined and thrown by the wayside.  The resurrection, inspiration of scripture, divinity of Christ, and social teaching are all up for grabs and optional.
