We all have our ways of protecting ourselves from pain inside - not in a physical sense but rather psychological and emotional pain. Our defense mechanisms can often be traced back to our life experiences, and our mind tells us that it’s just trying to help us but what if the downside of this protection was less love flowing through our hearts and souls. Defense mechanisms are often rooted in a fear and when fear is the source then there is something amiss.
