Michael is an Informatician and Data Scientist with expertise in Information Retrieval and Search, Visual Analytics, and Data Science. He holds a Ph.D. in Biomedical and Health Informatics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In the labs at UNC-CH, he created PATTIE, which he now co-owns the IP for, out of frustration of having to find the “needle in a haystack” of medical data and wanted a better way to aggregate and make meaning out of information.
