This is the first episode in a series that has the desired goal of combatting a negative perception that many people have of Memphis, TN as being a very dangerous place to live and thrive, given the crime reports over the years. Though the crime rate must be addressed and should never be minimized; I feel that there is a much more negative underlying message that must also be addressed as well, based on the demographic makeup of the city; a message that feeds into a very unflattering stigma that other similar US cities with similar demographic makeup faces as well.
