Fresh off the back of his lifetime achievement award at the 2019 Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards, IG Culture and the CoOp Selectors Assemble crew are back with a killer new track from London based producer and vocalist Oliver Night. Having established himself as a DJ some 15 years ago, he has built a solid reputation playing across the capital, from the Tate Modern to Boiler Room. His music has been released in the past by the likes of Tony Humphries, Kerri Chandler & Seth Troxler.

This four-tracker illustrates Oliver’s diverse range of influences, from the initial inspiration of his Jamaican uncle, musician Hughie Izachaar (who worked with Lee Scratch Perry & others), through to his passion for London’s broken beat movement. Oliver’s sound epitomises tru-skool UK sound-system ethics; grounded in reggae and dub production sensibilities, whilst built solidly for the bruk and house music dances of today.

In 2018, Innate unveiled its debut release – a widely acclaimed EP that drew together four varied slabs of deep electronic music from a mix of unsung heroes and underground stalwarts, including Mark Hand, Lerosa and the man behind the blog that spawned the label, Owain K. The label’s second release naturally treads a similar path, offering up a trio of cuts that further emphasize Innate’s desire to champion futurist electronic music shot through with warmth, humanity and machine soul.

“Our Love For Music” marks the first Innate appearance from Final Chapter boss and sometime Rawax contributor Sean Dixon. Like much of the Swedish producer’s output, the track is melodious and intergalactic in tone, combining the widescreen vision of Detroit’s early techno pioneers with the jacking, sweat-drenched percussive intensity of Chicago’s finest.
