Why do the wicked prosper? Why do bad things happen to good people? How do believers reconcile the goodness of God with a world that is unfair? We can learn a lot from how Asaph wrestles with these questions in this Psalm.

What do we do when our bodies start failing us? Is there meaning and purpose beyond our physical capabilities?

What do you do when the waters are up to your neck? 

For the child of God, hope is not primarily that our circumstances will change. Our hope is that God is with us. For Christians, hope is anchored deep in the promises of God, in the Word of God, in the guaranteed expectation of the coming of Christ and the glory of God to be revealed for all of those who trust in Him.

King David wrote Psalm 51 after being confronted for committing adultery and having an innocent man murdered. From his example and the Psalm that he wrote, we see that anybody can fall, that sin is primarily against God, and that sin is both an act and an attitude.
