WEBINAR RECORDING: Listen to DEKRA Organisational and Process Safety Managing Director Dr. Steven Rowe and DEKRA Senior Consultant Marcelino Garcia Arias discuss SIF through a variety of lenses.
Process Safety and Occupational Safety involve different and contrasting risks. The two disciplines are often managed by different departments and are relatively non-concurrent, however, there is an area where they are more aligned – SIF (Serious Injury & Fatality) prevention. Catastrophic events with the potential for such serious injury or fatality must be avoided and strategies in occupational and process safety become much more synchronous. Organisational safety and reliability, of course, naturally overlays both– having the right culture and the right behaviours is clearly a key component for successful outcomes in safety.
WEBINAR RECORDING: Is your workforce ready to look after hydrogen? Do your decision-makers understand the level of competence required for themselves and their workforce and what the change will mean to them?
In this webinar, we will discuss how the potential cultural shift for people can have an effect on safety and how underlying competence will have an effect on culture and behaviours.
Women are working later in life than ever before as well as experiencing symptoms of menopause earlier than ever before, making menopause in the workplace a real and more common occurrence. But why does so much stigma surround the topic and how can workplaces break down taboo barriers and negative connotations? Should there be policies, processes, education, resource and support? How do HSE professionals tackle this?
Listen to Lisa Congdon from Henpicked: Menopause in the Workplace and DEKRA VP of Consulting Sebastian Blair engage in a candid conversation that draws on both of their personal experiences.

Transportation of hydrogen, whether marine, pipeline, or on the road, all have DSEAR, COMAH, and chemical safety requirements. This also means that users receiving hydrogen must be capable of achieving safety compliance with regulators.
In this webinar, we will discuss the capability challenges you may encounter and what you need to do now to meet safety compliance and beyond.
Are you planning to use hydrogen in your plant in the near future and wonder if it’s prepared to take it in?
In this edition, we will discuss what it means for your current plans for managing assets, your on-site technology, and your overall asset integrity to receive hydrogen safely. What impacts will the implementation of hydrogen have on your asset, equipment, and procedures to ensure safety compliance? Our experts will provide you with some key aspects of what you need to check to be ready to receive hydrogen.

What can leaders do to create the behaviours and culture of a High-Reliability Organisation (HRO)? Becoming a HRO is an aspiration with many complex facets. A company can have the processes perfected but if the people implementing those processes aren't in tune, it all falls down. Cultural maturity, as the name suggests, takes time. Communication, accountability and transparency are all factors heavily influenced by leadership culture, but how does this filter down to behaviours and translate into the common attributes of HROs?
WEBINAR RECORDING: Organisational climate is an intangible and complex concept. It indicates the shared perception and sentiment of employees towards business practices, as well as the working atmosphere and level of productivity. Leadership practice, both formal and informal, has a profound impact and when applied correctly allows people to flourish creating a positive climate.
Interestingly, leaders are not necessarily those in the most senior positions. All individuals within an organisation have the ability to fine-tune the ambience. How can you influence your company’s atmosphere, creating the ideal climate for increased productivity, well-being and safety?
WEBINAR RECORDING: COMAH & beyond… once the technicalities of COMAH are understood – how do we use the report to maintain drive? Human Factors dictate the process, the plant and the people allowing COMAH and safety culture to integrate into a way of working and a state of mind, not just a process.
This final session in the COMAH series will introduce you to Human Factors and detail how to create a Culture of Care that builds on COMAH outputs and transcends your organisational safety. Find the prior 2 COMAH webinars on DEKRA Buzzsprout Season 1 Episodes 3 &5
WEBINAR RECORDING. Managing levels of risk within high hazard businesses has become synonymous with the complex data and analysis used to demonstrate acceptable levels of risk. However, with most Process Safety incidents, the causes and contributing factors appear to highlight one key thing - hazardous conditions occur when systems don’t account for human error. The cultural and behavioural aspects of human error have a direct link to the definition of what a HRO is and why it is the true objective of Process Safety Management – a consistent and coherent approach to risk management focused on human fallibility.
WEBINAR RECORDING Safety is only real when everyone understands it, everyone has a say in it and everyone follows it. Building on from COMAH Deconstructed- What You Need to Know this 2nd webinar in the 3 part series explores how we engage everyone in a company with the COMAH report. The HSE now requires it to be a “living document” accessible by and understood by everyone. What are the fundamentals for achieving this?
