In this episode, we shine the stage spotlight on Al and Mary Knight of the Frantic Music Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to Supporting Musicians and Building Community Through Music.
Their mission is to provide subsidized equipment and services to economically challenged performing musicians, regardless of age, who currently have or are pursuing a career in music within the State of Delaware. Additional support is provided through programs, scholarships, and financial support for one-time catastrophic life illnesses or events.
When they aren't raising money for those in need, Al and Mary Knight have been operating Frantic Frets Music and Antiques in Milton, Delaware since 2018. A true Mom & Pop shop, Frantic Frets buys, sells, trades, and consigns used and vintage gear—including acoustic and electric guitars, basses, amps, and pedals.
You can help support their vital fundraising efforts this spring:
- March 27–29: Frantic Mid-Atlantic Guitar Show & Swap Meet – Moving to the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington, this massive annual event features dozens of exhibitors, vintage gear, and a "Trading Post" for local musicians to buy, sell, and trade.
- April 19: Vanilla Fudge Live in Concert – Experience the legendary 60s rock pioneers behind "You Keep Me Hangin' On" at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. This high-energy benefit concert features local favorites Lower Case Blues and Al Frantic, with all proceeds supporting the Frantic Music Project's mission.
