Be very specific with instructions - One of the reasons delegation fails is because clear specific instructions are not given. Allocating the task is the first step in the process of delegation, it also requires to follow up and management. You should have comprehensive systems and processes in place so that employees are able to proceed without you.

Once you have given someone a task with clear instructions you must trust them to complete it.

Make sure you are open to feedback - If you are open to feedback going both ways then it can be useful for both you and the other person. It is a learning opportunity enabling you to make improvements.

Lots of the senior people in business are masters of delegation because they recognise the importance of this skill in a successful business.

Delegation is often the person’s problem and it is a skill you have to develop over time. It is a craft you can master and if you do it can be a real power for good in your business.
