  • Behold Your God, Isaiah 49, Part 2
According to the Bible, God is Holy and just, necessarily opposing evil, including the evil that runs through the heart of every person. God is also full of compassion and tender love. He is deeply moved by our broken and lost state…but How can his justice and compassion meet? Well, the two are most beautifully displayed to us in the person of Jesus Christ- the Son of God bearing the just wrath and punishment meant for man because of His great love for us and for His father. What a Savior! Let's take a closer look at His character in this message from Isaiah 49.

  • Behold Your God, Isaiah 48, Part 4
The Greek gods and goddesses worshiped thousands of years ago were portrayed as better, more powerful versions of humanity. They could still be capricious, and full of the same vices found in man. Not so with the God of the Bible. It is easy to see throughout the narrative of Scripture that God is unlike us. He is holy-set apart, completely other. God Himself is the very definition of what is good, beautiful, and right. His person invokes awe in those who observe it. In today's message from Isaiah 48, Pastor Rich lays out the holiness- the otherness- of God, along with a challenge for us to consider.
Do we view God as simply a larger, better version of ourselves? Are we guilty of treating him as common? May God enlighten our hearts to the beauty and greatness of Himself today.

  • Behold Your God, Isaiah 47, Part 4
Isaiah 47:8 God speaks to Babylon, saying, Hear this now, you who are given to pleasures, who dwell securely, who say in your heart, “I am, and there is no other besides me.” Throughout the chapter, God has severe warnings for Babylon, a nation often symbolic in Scripture of organized rebellion against God through self-exaltation. Humanity is greatly drawn to self-preeminence, but it is God who rules in the kingdom of man. Without Him, we are lost. Every other object of trust, including a trust in ourselves, will leave us utterly unsatisfied.
