Delight in Grace

God places His law on the hearts of His people, and to an extent, in the heart of every man. His way gives life, protects, and grows all that is good in mankind. Sin is self-destructive. It destroys, separates, and distorts. In Deuteronomy 27, God reinforces the importance of following His way, commanding the priests to call out those things which bring curse on His people. Through the lens of Christ’s action on our behalf, we see the great power we can have to overcome sin and the grace and blessing He gives us through His substitutionary work. Let’s listen to this message titled The Choice of Life or Death: You have become the People of the Lord

Our greatest freedom is found in our surrender to the benevolent Sovereign. He is the One who has made us and He knows what makes us thrive. God’s laws in Deuteronomy 25 were given to Israel to promote human flourishing by removing the obstructions of cruelty and repression. And in Deuteronomy 26, God’s graciousness and generosity is demonstrated in our lives of worship. When we become aware of God’s work for human flourishing, our hearts will be drawn to praise

Pastor Rich unpacks each of these laws within their historical and biblical context, showing the heart behind them. These are national laws for Israel, but could it be that they also point toward the gospel? Pastor RIch shows eight ways these laws pave the way for Jesus in this message titled Accept Atonement O Lord for your People whom You have Redeemed.
