On the desert island of Naxos, Ariadne and Dionysus exchange the stories of their lives. Ariadne reveals the tragic fall of the Minotaur and the tyranny of her father, while Dionysus tells her of his tenuous connection to the gods and his quest to understand love as mortals do. Ariadne finds herself falling in love with her wayfaring god quite against her will, and only time will tell whether she finds the courage to accept his love.
