1. Get your timing right – if you got 20 minutes make sure you can deliver the whole presentation in 20 minutes
2. See if you can be the first person to present
3. Be clear about what your audience is expecting – your content needs to be for them not you
4. Don’t ramble around at the start, speak slowly but go straight in with a big stat, statement, quote or image
5. Keep words off your slides and use props for variety
6. Practice – this will ensure you get the content, structure, flow and timing right
