DEMA Live will be joined by Leading By The Reins-Programs Director Mike Branch.  He will discuss leadership in the private sector and how as a "Horse Whisper" he has been able to teach others how to become effective leaders.  We will also talk about what you can expect from his presentation at the 2015 DEMA Convention.  

“It's a lot like nuts and bolts - if the rider is nuts, the horse bolts,” wrote Nicholas Evans, author of The Horse Whisperer. This applies not just to riders, but to leaders of people as well. Internationally-recognized horseman Mike Branch joins the DEMA Convention to discuss what he learned working with horses, and how many of the same principles can be used to make better leaders. In this presentation, Mike will focus on the seven characteristics of a good leader and the essential nature of communication in getting others to believe in that leadership.

On this episode of DEMA LIVE we will be joined by Philanthropy Expert Ron Poindexter, Senior Learning and Development Specialist for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.  Before taking a management position with the foundation, Ron worked as an Executive Assistant. 

During our discussion we will address how PSP’s impact the ability of their Principals’ to be more involved in philanthropy.  This can range from researching various charities to see which organization’s values best align with the principal’s, to managing how personal donations are made to the organizations. Not only is this charity work rewarding to the Principals involved, but working on philanthropic projects can have lasting, positive effects on PSP’s.

Lastly, why it is important for you to have a working description of what your title's duties will entail.  We will be taking your calls regarding how you personally define these titles so that collectivley as an industry we can begin setting a common accepted definition for these titles.
