GENESIS 12-14

1.) A leader is faithful to the call of God

2.) A leader seeks the Lord's instruction (Abraham is not perfect!)

3.) A leader understands just because it looks good and our flesh desires it; it may not be good for us!

4.) A leader trust in God's provision and obeys what God forbids.

 

MATTHEW 5:1-26

1.) A leader has a desire for a pure heart.

2.) A leader shines as a light for Jesus Christ.

MATTHEW 4

1.) A leader knows the Word of God and the promises of God

    And uses these to fight against temptation. 

    *Satan knows the word of God and manipulates it to his advantage.

A LEADER...

GENESIS 6-7

1.) Seeks God.  Noah is righteous before God.  Why? Because he seeks God and follows his commands.  What does a righteous man look like? "He did all God commanded him." Gen 6:22

2.) A leader takes initiative and follows through.

 

MATTHEW 3

1.) Points to Christ. John the Baptist: "I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry." Matthew 3:11

Genesis 3-5

1.) A leader understands sin and evil in the world

2.) A leader understands the lies of Satan

3.) A leader takes every thought captive and seeks the Lord in every action

4.) A leader rules over sin

5.) A leader trust and understands the sovereign hand of God

Matthew 2

1.) A leader takes ownership as a father and a mother

2.) A leader understands what abuse of power looks like: Herod was jealous, a liar, angry, and a murderer.
