Aliya wants Democracy In Colour!
Ruby and James are joined by Aliya Ahmad, a volenteer from the new organisation from Democracy In Colour! Australia’s first national racial justice advocacy organisation, Democracy in Colour is run by POC and aims to empower them and lift their voices!
Aliya chats about the impact of religion and different cultures on queerness, and the intersectional experiences she’s had as a queer Muslim from Kuwait, as well as specific challenges with coming out. Also, why she takes her cat out in a pram when she goes to the pub~
